Kinka was founded by Tom & EunYoung Sebazco during the Summer of 2020 at the height of the COVID 19 pandemic. Witnessing the beginning of what the world would turn into while were traveling in Japan at the end of February 2020, slowly the our society was closed down to quarantine and the original launch date of March 17, 2020 was delayed until July 7, 2020 in the Flatiron District of New York City. People were still hesitant to step inside the store, but people were willing to talk and share smiles behind their masks.
The sum experience of opening in that presence was a grateful and humbling process. We have learned positive energy from so many amazing people. This historic time helped us to grow and adjust our approach to a more personable experience within our community.
April 1st, 2023 KINKA relocated to the heart of East Village. With support from our neighborhood, both old and new, we continue to carry our Art, Food and Plant. We are enthusiastic to offer more classes and events at new location to cross pollinate the ideas and creativity. We are also expanding to a few offsite locations to feature workshops and events to explore culinary, botanical and hand made art. Join us.
