Stand Upright

On earth, only human beings and plants stand erect against gravity. Humans have bones, Plant bodies are full of water. As long as plants keep their cells filled with water, they can look toward their revered sun. But no water, plants will wilt. Plants drink water from roots. If the soil is always damp, they will be unable to breathe and will end up rotting. Also roots need the oxidants in the soil to absorb water. The best growing conditions for roots is when dry soil is alternated with wet soil. Just like there are sunny days and there are rainy days.
